Knowvision Software Ltd. is a private limited company incorporated in Dhaka, Bangladesh in August 2003, after taking over the intellectual and fixed assets of its predecessor company EmTek Technologies Ltd. that was in operation for three years since September 2000. The technology and management team members of EmTek are now full-time staff members of Knowvision.

In December 2003 the company's capital base was expanded with investment participation of the Bangladesh Bank (Government of Bangladesh), IPDC of Bangladesh Ltd (a leading private sector development finance institution), and additional investment from the company's founder Mr Mirza Shafiquer Rahman who has over twenty years of experience in twenty-five developing countries in economic management, institutional capacity building in government, and application of IT in development management.

Knowvision undertakes software development, system integration, connectivity architecture for Intranet, Extranet and Internet, web site and portal development. As part of its expertise in providing eOffice Management solutions to government, private sector and NGOs, Knowvision works in strategic partnership with Bangladeshi and international technology and consulting firms and arranges to provide consulting services and solutions in setting up Internet access, wireless communications, and e-commerce.
